Hi, I'm John Sunart.

I help organisations find clarity at the edge of what they know — where the strategy is new, the stakes are high, and the right path isn't obvious yet.

Much of my work sits at the earliest stages of strategy; moments when there is ambition, pressure, or opportunity to move, but no shared understanding of what to prioritise, how initiatives fit together, or how to align teams behind a clear direction. This is often where progress slows, risk increases, and well-intentioned work starts to fragment.

I work with leadership teams, product teams, and partners to turn this ambiguity into coherent, actionable strategy. I ground ambition in customer insight and organisational reality, surfacing the critical questions, trade-offs, and decisions that drive delivery to gain momentum. The aim is not always ideas, but a clearer direction, greater confidence and greater empowerment to act.

My background spans product and service design, academic innovation research, and strategic consultancy. I've worked across emerging and mature industries, including finance, gaming, technology, and construction, supporting organisations as they navigate growth, transformation, and complex cross-functional change.

Across this work, my focus has remained consistent: enabling alignment at scale. I connect leadership and delivery, ensure initiatives reinforce rather than compete, and create the conditions for meaningful progress to be sustained beyond the initial push.

Sunart Works is my independent practice. I work directly with organisations and also in collaboration with trusted partners, studios, and collectives — including Group of Humans — bringing strategic clarity, facilitation, and judgement to complex challenges.
